Pier Caps are used to finish masonry columns or pillars. Good uses include pier caps at breaks in a wall or at an entrance, as support columns that reinforce a wall or fence, or columns that do not have an ornate capital. There are many choices including caps with a rise that creates a pyramid shape, a flat cap so that a planter, sphere, finial or light can be added to the cap. Sphere balls are a great shape to finish a pier cap as shown on this page.
